![]() I really appreciate the thought that went into building up a list of suggested fields even if I only use a small percentage. The Restīus圜ontacts sports all of the usual contact information but adds a lot more as an optional. It uses the end point and has worked reliably for months. You can find the Fastmail instructions for syncing with the new beta cardDAV service here. This merge feature is powerful and pretty well documented. It’s genius.Ĭlicking on a field while editing it offers up options to copy the edit to the linked contact cards too. If the cards are from two different calendar servers then they both get all the same information and Bus圜ontacts merges the view so there is only one card shown. Select the contacts and the Merge and Link function will combine all information between the two cards. They are both working well but are usually out of sync with each other. I use iCloud and the new Fastmail cardDAV contact syncing. My absolutely favorite feature of Bus圜ontacts is the Merge and Link function. It’d be nice to have my mail history in the Bus圜ontacts sidebar too. It’s pretty standard but it’s a bummer for me as a MailMate user. Unfortunately, Bus圜ontacts only supports Mail.app. I like the “Journal” features which creates a calendar event in Bus圜al and drops me right into the notes field for that event. Selecting a contact, I can create an event or reminder. Integration between Bus圜ontacts and Bus圜al is well done. I like that I can reply right from Bus圜ontacts too. I didn’t test the Facebook or LinkedIn integration. The calendar information shows all past and future appointments, which is spectacular for reviewing projects. Click on a contact and in the side bar you can see your previous conversations or just what they’ve been tweeting. The first thing that caught my attention with Bus圜ontacts was the integration of messages, mail and Twitter history for contacts. Bus圜ontacts nails everything I use a contact manager for and adds some clever bonus features. I just want it to make my life easy and I want to spend as little effort and time as possible making it work. It’s not flashy but I don’t really want a flashy utilitarian tool. Those are just a few token benefits beyond, you know, actually finding a phone number when you need it.īus圜ontacts makes organizing and editing contact information almost easy. The map app will highlight people and businesses in search on on the map. Phonetic spellings can also help Siri to recognize a spoken contact. ![]() Siri can recognized relationships if you have them defined. But, a well groomed address book is a powerful enabler. ![]() It’s not going to be enjoyable and the most you can hope for is to end up where you started. Much of the time, managing contacts in the address book makes me think of Sisyphus waking up every morning and thinking about his day. I may have to take it for a spin. After using Bus圜ontacts on my Mac for the past 6 months, I can declare it’s the most I will ever enjoy managing contacts. It can remove duplicates and says it combines similar contacts, can scan business cards (the original feature I'd used in their older iOS app), and offers contact enrichment. Then, I was thinking that FullContact had a mobile app that'd been shut down, but turns out it's been reborn as Contacts+, and that seems like it might be closest to what I'm looking for. It might be a good option for a native Mac CRM, though, without a subscription. From a pure contacts app perspective-something trying to hue closer to an address book than a CRM-there are several apps that are interesting but only feel like they solve part of the problem.Ĭardhop (from the team behind Fantastical) adds a nicer UI to the contacts experience, lets you add contacts in a plain text sentence that it then parses out into contact details, and adds more detailed notes to contacts than the standard iOS contacts app allows-but it doesn't have detailed tools to merge contacts or sync from other sources.īus圜ontacts (again from a team behind a calendar app) does sync social network contacts-but surprisingly doesn't have a way to remove duplicate contacts, nor a mobile app.
