These facts notwithstanding, the pronounciation spelling and the pronunciation that goes with it are not considered a part of standard English, and may open one criticism or questioning. Eventually, the noun standardized to pronunciation, but because of influence from pronounce, we occasionally still see pronounciation in print, and encounter a corresponding pronunciation for pronounciation (\pruh-nown-see-AY-shun\). This means that, from about the 1500s onward, we see evidence of both pronounciation and pronunciation in the written record. But when the Latin verb was taken into Anglo-French and later entered Middle English, that second vowel was sometimes rendered as -u- and sometimes rendered as -ou. The confusion is understandable: the verb is pronounce, so why shouldn’t the noun be pronounciation? Both the noun and verb come ultimately from the Latin verb pronuntiare. I’ve more than just a passing fondness for Star Wars in general, and I think Knights of the Old Republic might be one of my favorite stories set in this universe. If anything, I’d say that certain world-building elements that the films may not often have time to explore are fleshed out far more in Knights of the Old Republic, such as how humans interact with the other alien species. The music is grand in scope and brings to mind the soundtracks of the various Star Wars films wonderfully. The game captures the feel of the films beautifully in its planetary vistas, thrilling space battles, and hectic lightsaber duels. Those who don’t at least have a modicum of love for the series would probably do best to look elsewhere for their RPG experience, though fans will certainly find enjoyment in getting their Jedi training on. Knights of the Old Republic is a Star Wars story at its very heart with all the aesthetic trappings of the franchise. Soon you’re caught up in a worlds-spanning battle between the Dark and Light Sides of the Force that could very well shape the fate of the entire galaxy. Players take on the role of a Republic soldier during an intense firefight that soon finds you crash landing on the planet of Taris and searching for the Jedi Bastila. All hope seems lost until a group of Jedi Knights are able to secure a victory against Darth Revan, though the repercussions of that battle are felt far and wide as Malak takes total control of the Sith. ![]() Vaunted Jedi heroes Revan and Malak mysteriously turned to the Dark Side and have led a seemingly inexhaustible force of Sith against their former allies. Years have passed since the dramatic and explosive aftermath of the war with the Mandalorians, and it seems as if the Republic (the current long established governmental force of a galaxy far, far away) might be on its last legs. ![]() I’m not blinded by fond nostalgia when I state that I’m pleasantly surprised with just how well Aspyr’s port of the game holds up amongst the Switch’s current RPG lineup, though not without some caveats. Is the Force still strong with this port, or has that sensitivity vanished with the passage of time? Let me preface this review by saying that this is the first time I’ve ever played Knights of the Old Republic. Now, almost twenty years later, the classic sci-fi RPG has made its way to the Nintendo Switch. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic initially released in 2003. And WE LOVE LONDON!") right through to a call and response chant of "London!" during the penultimate "For Tomorrow". There are plenty of fittingly direct explicit addresses to their home city, from a rousing version of Parklife's "London Loves" ("This song is called 'London Loves'. It's a transcendent and exuberant 25-song set, capturing the infectious energy of a 21-year-old live band still riding an impossibly prolonged peak- Albarn has to make an age-appropriate revision to the lyrics of "End of a Century" ("The mind gets dirty/ As you get closer. ![]() In fact, judging by all the tweets from the cheap seats complaining about Hyde Park's soundsystem (and the boos audible to my ears when Albarn asks early in the set if they can hear him in the back), Parklive sounds even better than the real thing. Still, thanks to the clear and appropriately bombastic mix, Parklive certainly doesn't sound like a rush job. Hurried out to iTunes a day after the Closing Ceremony show and following a recent avalanche of archival releases, Parklive comes to us as speedily and inevitably as a Usain Bolt 100-meter victory. ![]() They must set one scoring dice aside each time at least. Of course, it still involves a lot of luck! Farkle Score SheetĪfter this day full of Farkle, I decided I definitely want to incorporate playing Farkle into our probability unit in the non-AP statistics course that I teach every other year. He said he actually prefers Farkle to Pass the Pigs because the game involves a bit more strategy. Shaun said the game reminded him of Pass the Pigs which his family is a bit obsessed with. We ended up playing four different rounds in a single day. Should an 8/27 chance of farkling be enough to keep you from risking it? If we have three dice, we have a (2/3)^3 chance of not rolling a 1 or a 5. If we have two dice, then our chance of farkling is (2/3)^2. We have a 1/3 chance of rolling a 1 or 5, so we have a 2/3 chance of farkling. What is the probability of Farkling with one die? Well, with one die, the only way to score is by rolling a 1 or a 5. For example, we often found ourselves in the situation where we had one die left that we could roll. If you get to doing a lot of reading and research, you will soon learn that there are many different versions of the game with different scoring rules.Īs Shaun and I were playing Farkle, we found ourselves stopping the game to discuss and calculate various probabilities. I use AirDroid for everything, and even have a year subscription for it haha it's so worth it. There's no logo or watermarks on recordings, though it will show the control circle panel (for turning the recording on, closing AirDroid Record, opening the folder where you keep your recordings, etc.) in the corner. Part of the app is screen recording, which I only recently discovered and use all the time now. I use AirDroid or XRecorder! :D AirDroid is used for my day-to-day life, since it's actually a file sharing app that lets me access my phone from my computer, send files quickly to my computer and vice versa, mirror my phone or computer, etc. There might be another program that tries to do this, but in the Google play listings most of them seem like junk I wouldn't trust on my Android device, or they aren't compatible with my Android devices. All it does is show the Android display on the laptop, with no control ability. ![]() I just tried AirDroid for this, and its "mirroring" feature shows the Android device's display on the laptop (even full-screen), but disappointingly it won't allow the laptop mouse to control the Android interface, which is the whole point. However, there might be ways to connect to your phone so that the phone's GUI appears on the laptop's display and is controllable by the laptop's pointing device and keyboard. Their existence and low cost may explain why there's no converter whose sole purpose is to change a USB mouse into a Bluetooth mouse. There are Bluetooth mice (I have several), but that contradicts your rule about buying any new hardware. All apart from the fact that the described hardware conversion device doesn't exist. You cannot turn a USB mouse into a Bluetooth mouse without purchasing a hardware converter that converts a USB mouse into a Bluetooth mouse. I know there are hardware solutions that exist but I want to do so without tampering with the device or purchasing any new hardware. > I want to convert a peripheral, specifically mouse, connected to a linux machine to a bluetooth device for pairing with my phone. ![]() All you gotta do is sign in with a computer to connect to it. If you're gmail account is linked to your phone airdroid will just default to that. I'm 90% sure this will work I don't remember needing to set anything up on the phone itself once the app is installed. You can even reply to your text messages and see who's calling you. At that point it will sign you in and it will see your phone over your local network and you'll have access to your phones pictures. Give it a couple minutes to make sure it downloaded and installed correctly then go to on your computer and sign in with the same gmail account used to sign into google play / used to download the app. Go to this link hl=enĪs long as your phone is on and connected to 4G(unless you have 4G downloading disabled) or WIFI it will automatically download the app to your phone once you hit the install button. You don't need to download the application on to your PC its web based. If you share through zoom, and zoom is having issues, then everyone is having issues, and it's less awkward lol (Same logic holds true for ipads with airshare or whatever their's is called). Students are still in the meeting, you're still in the meeting, but there's a holdup. If airdroid has issues one day, but zoom is fine you're downstream with no canoe. Sharing through a separate service also introduces a new point of failure (airdroid). ![]() I've only stress tested airdroid for a few minutes. While I have stress tested using zoom to screenshare for hours on end several times a week since March, and literally never had an issue getting my tablet connected or keeping it connected. You say you don't want to be looking at a little screen all day, I'm curious, have you mastered the art of not looking at the screen while you write? Otherwise, I think signing into the meeting from your desk/laptop and also signing in with the tablet and just disconnecting tablet audio is going to be a much simpler process than sharing something to your laptop then laptop to zoom.Īlso on airdroid, I've tried it for about 4 minutes now and after the first 30 seconds of being blurry, it came in clear. Here's the web application (Can also install a real app for windows) Airdroid was painfree and simple to set up though. ![]() What seems to be the replacement- SamsungFlow, does not support tablets (Wow).
